what’s going on up there?

StraightjacketMy upstairs neighbor is crazy.

I’m not really sure what’s going on in the bedroom above my bedroom, but I’d love to know. Around 11:30pm the commotion starts. Heavy things being dropped on the hardwood floors. Not just one heavy thing. Several heavy things. One after the other. Then there’s what sounds like furniture being moved around. This goes on for a while. And it isn’t a rare occurrence, either.

I sit in my bed and ponder what he could possibly be doing up there. I mean, I just walk into my bedroom and undress and then hop into bed. Maybe I should be moving my bed around more often. Am I supposed to horde heavy things in my bedroom? Why didn’t anybody tell me that. Clearly I don’t have enough heavy things that need to be dropped nightly.

I’m not sure if there is an upstairs neighbor anywhere who is not crazy. Just imagine if you lived in a skyscraper with each floor growing progressively crazier.
At my last place we had a crazy woman upstairs who would yell and move furniture at 3am. In response to her racket I’d bang a couple times on the ceiling as an indication that we want her to be quiet. She would then respond with an extremely loud bang that would make the windows rattle, and then she’d be quiet. What was awkward was that we’d invariably see her the next morning on our way out and she’d be very chipper and friendly (at 7:30am!!) as if nothing happened, and just 4 sleepy hours before we had thought her to be this raving lunatic.

Good to see you’re still alive Jon. Haven’t seen your witty words here in a while! It’s also nice to know I’m not the only one with a crazy upstairs neighbor.
